Roundtable Meetings

Business Roundtable Breakfast meetings occur every third Wednesday of the month. These monthly meetings are for the members of the Coliseum Central District and others to keep up with things that are going on in the neighborhood. The Business Roundtable meeting is also an excellent way to network with fellow Coliseum Central businesses and to find out about discounted media opportunities. The meetings start at 8 AM and are open to the public meeting. Please give us a call if you have any questions at 826-6351.The Roundtable meetings are held at the Holiday Inn Hampton Hotel and Conference Center, which is located at 1815 W. Mercury Blvd.

Meet and Greet

Come meet your business neighbors at the monthly Meet and Greet Reception. Coliseum Central holds this networking reception every third Thursday from 5 PM to 6:30 PM and each month it is hosted at the different location within the District. Please call the Coliseum Central office at 826-6351 for more information or if your businesses would like to host a networking reception.

Annual Meeting Draws a Crowd

Coliseum CentralOver 500 Coliseum Central stakeholders made their way to the Hampton Roads Convention Center for the Coliseum Central Annual Meeting. The featured program of the meeting was all about the exciting happenings in and around the Coliseum Central Business District. James Eason, Director of Economic Development for the City of Hampton, talked about the projects that are underway in and near the District and the developments that are on the horizon. Some of the projects that were featured included the Peninsula Town Center, the Hampton University Proton Beam Cancer Therapy Center, the Crossroads Development, the Mercury Plaza redevelopment project and the Sentara Fitness Facility.

Business Watch Training Sessions

Coliseum Central holds several Business Watch training sessions a year. These sessions provide businesses with information on the latest safety and security issues. These Business Watch Training sessions are produced by Coliseum Central in partnership with the Hampton Police Division and cosponsored by Downtown Hampton Development Partnership.

About Business Watch Training Session50 community and business people gathered recently at the Hampton Marina Hotel for the Business Watch Training session on Onsite Security at your Business. Officer Bonita Powers of the Hampton Police Division's Community Relations Unit gave a presentation on increasing the safety and security of your business through CPTED principles. She also discussed the Police Division's Security Survey in which businesses can request and receive recommendations for security related improvements. Lecture Series For Design Trends

As Coliseum Central experiences growth and transformation, there are many opportunities for property owners to improve the appearance and functionality of their properties. The Physical Improvements Committee is preparing a new quarterly lecture series about good site design, landscaping, signage, lighting and building design to provide information to property owners, developers, and project designers.

Monthly Committee Meetings

Coliseum Central is made up of several Committees that report to the Board of Directors. These Committees meet on a monthly basis and discuss a variety of different topics that range of physical enhancements in the District to security related issues to District marketing efforts to events.
